(My 4th great-grandparents.  William Jr.'s sister, Margaret is my 3rd great-grandmother)

Pocahontas, daughter of Powhatan, born abt. 1594, married John Rolfe.  Through their son, Thomas and his daughter, Jane Rolfe, who married Robert Bolling in 1670 and four generations of Bollings thereafter, we come to the marriage of Hannah Bolling to Solomon Osborne in 1768 in Pike Co., KY.  From their children, we connect to my families of Collier, Tackett, Akers and Hall.  We are not directly related to Pocahontas, though.

Through my 5th great-grandmother, Elizabeth Vaughn, who married Nathaniel Preston in 1780, in VA, we have to go back 20+ generations... through surnames of Crew, Ellyson, Gerard, Boteler, Plumpton and deRoss to get to the Royalty.  A deRoss married Isabel of Scotland, who was born about 1170.  Her father was William I - King of Scotland (1143), whose father was Henry - Prince of Scotland (1114).  Then, David - King of Scotland (1080).  Then to Malcolm Canmore of Dunkeld - King of Scotland (1031).  Then, Duncan I - King of Scotland (1001)  [yes, the same one killed by MacBeth and chronicled in the movie "Braveheart"].  His parents were Bethoc - Princess of Scotland (980) and her husband, Crinan of Dunkeld.  Bethoc's father was Malcolm II - King of Scots.  At the top of our list is Kenneth III - King of Scots, born in the mid 900's. Lots of history that is heavily documented.  Very fascinating stuff!
[I am the 30th-great-granddaughter of Kenneth III.]

My 7th great-grandparents were John Webb Jr. (born 1695) and Mary Boone (born 1699).  Mary was the daughter of George Boone III and Mary Milton Maudgridge.  Son of George & Mary, and Mary Boone Webb's brother, Squire Boone was the father of the infamous Daniel Boone (born 1734).

(FYI...we are NOT related to Captain William Kidd, the pirate.  He bore no sons.)
